Any frame in the women’s glasses collection can be fitted with your prescription in a standard tinted, polarised or photochromic lens. Single vision, varifocal and bifocal prescriptions are all available. Provide your prescription at checkout and your glasses are made in our Amersham optical lab before dispatch.

Women’s tinted prescription lenses reduce the overall amount of light reaching your eyes and provide full UV protection. This is the standard prescription sunglass lens. Standard tinted lenses are a more affordable option well-suited to everyday and holiday use.

Polarised prescription lenses do all of this and additionally block horizontal glare from reflective surfaces such as water, roads and sand. For driving, beach holidays and outdoor sport, polarised lenses offer superior clarity.

A gradient lens is darker at the top and lighter towards the bottom, allowing more light through the lower portion of the lens. This is a popular choice for cat-eye, oversized and butterfly frames and is well-suited to general outdoor wear and fashion use. Gradient tints are not currently available on women’s prescription sunglasses at Direct Sight.

Yes. Women’s varifocal prescription sunglasses are available at Direct Sight. All varifocal lenses are digital freeform, meaning they are individually optimised to your prescription for a wider, more natural field of vision at all distances. Available with standard tinted, polarised tints and polarised lens options across the full range of women’s frames.

Grey is the most popular choice for women’s prescription sunglasses. It is neutral, does not alter colour perception, and suits everyday and driving use. Brown enhances contrast and warmth, making it a flattering choice for outdoor activities and variable light. Green is a classic option that pairs well with tortoise and gold frames.

Every pair includes a 365 day guarantee, 12-month scratch guarantee and 30 day returns as standard. Because we make every pair in our own UK laboratory, our prices are significantly lower than high-street optical chains.

Yes. Any frame in the women’s collection at Direct Sight, including cat-eye and oversized, can be fitted with prescription tinted lenses.

When selecting a larger frame it is worth considering higher index lenses to keep the lenses as thin and lightweight as possible.

Yes. All tinted, polarised and photochromic prescription lenses at Direct Sight include 100% UVA and UVB protection as standard. UV protection is built into the lens material and coating and does not depend on how dark the tint appears.

A lightly tinted photochromic lens in low light provides the same full UV protection as a dark polarised lens in bright sunshine.

Next-day delivery is available on eligible single vision prescriptions (SPH ±5.00, CYL ±2.00) with standard tints. Simply order before 3pm, Monday to Friday, and select Royal Mail Special Delivery at checkout. Your glasses will be dispatched the same day and delivered before 1pm the next working day.

Varifocal and polarised prescription sunglasses are typically dispatched within 7 to 10 working days.

Yes. Direct Sight’s reglaze service allows you to send in your existing sunglass or glasses frames to have new prescription tinted lenses fitted. You can choose standard tinted, polarised or gradient lenses in grey, brown or green. The service covers both adding a prescription to non-prescription frames and replacing existing lenses with an updated prescription. Our lab team will confirm suitability before you send anything in.
