Next Day Prescription Glasses

Select any frame on this page, add your prescription and complete checkout before 3pm Monday to Friday. Your glasses will then be made the same day in our Amersham laboratory. Inspected by a dispensing optician and dispatched that evening.

You choose your Royal Mail delivery option at checkout. Royal Mail 48 (2 working days), Royal Mail 24 (1-2 working days) or Special Delivery (before 1pm next working day).

Orders placed after 3pm, weekends and bank holidays are processed the following working day.

The deadline is 3pm Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. Orders received before 3pm are made and dispatched the same day. Our 3pm cutoff is later than many UK competitors, giving you an extra hour to place your order. For next day delivery glasses, select Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Royal Mail Special Delivery (before 1pm) at checkout.

Same day dispatch is available for single vision prescriptions up to +/-5.00 sphere (SPH) and +/-2.00 cylinder (CYL). This covers the majority of common prescriptions.

If your prescription goes beyond these values. Your glasses will still be made in our UK laboratory but will require a longer production time. Standard production time for single vision orders is typically 2 to 4 working days.

Royal Mail 48 delivery will take 2 working days from the date of dispatch.

If you need your glasses faster you can upgrade at checkout. Royal Mail Tracked 24 delivers 1-2 working days after dispatch. Royal Mail Special Delivery guarantees delivery before 1pm on the next working day.

All three options include email confirmation when your order is dispatched.

Every frame shown marked with the Next Day Express label is available for next day express. Frames without this label follow standard production times.

Yes. Prescription sunglasses with tinted lenses are available under the Next Day Express service. Subject to the same prescription range (+/-5.00 SPH / +/-2.00 CYL) and the same 3pm deadline.

If you place your order after 3pm, it is processed the following working day and dispatched that day. You will then receive delivery according to your chosen postage option.

Orders placed after 3pm on Friday, on weekends and bank holidays, will be processed on the next working day.

Yes. Every pair ordered under Next Day Express has the same 365 day guarantee and 12 month scratch guarantee as a standard order.

The same seven point quality check are applied to every pair. Speed of production does not affect the quality standards, guarantees or after care that apply to your glasses.

If after 3pm or you need glasses today, visit our Amersham store in Buckinghamshire. We can make glasses while you wait, the process takes around one hour.

Yes. Our Amersham store offers a same-day glasses service. No delivery option needed and no online order cutoff to worry about.

Visit us in store, choose your frame, provide your prescription, and we will make your glasses while you wait, approximately one hour. Free parking on site.

This is the best option if your prescription falls outside the available range. If you prefer to shop in person or wish to discuss your lens options.

Varifocal lenses have a longer production process than single vision lenses. They are not available on the next day express service. Standard production for varifocals is typically 5 to 7 working days.

If you need varifocals urgently and you are near Buckinghamshire, contact us. Our Amersham store team can advise on the fastest option available for your specific prescription. Ordering your varifocal glasses online will most likely still be quicker than if purchased from a high street optician.

Direct Sight does not supply prescription glasses to under 16s. All glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses on our site, are available to adults aged 16 and over only.
